As part of its expansion plans, NTC (National Textile corporation) is now seeking marketing and technology sourcing partnerships with companies to enter the technical textiles segment. Depending on performance and return parameters, NTC may also look at acquiring equity stake in an operational technical textile unit in India. The last date for submitting the initial bids by interested companies is April 16. NTC is open to exploring partnerships with both domestic and international firms to enter technical textiles segment.
NTC plans to invest around Rs. 425 crore along with the JV partner for setting up the infrastructure for manufacturing technical textiles. Over the last few years, NTC has expanded its operations into new areas and has recently invested around $ 140 million to establish three new composite textile units.
It has already formed JVs with Alok Industries, Pantaloon Retail India and Bhaskar Industries for setting up five garment manufacturing units.
