
Investcorp, Bahrain-based investor has acquired Italian protective clothing maker Dainese at US $ 163 million. Founder of Dainese, Lino Dainese will keep a minority stake and continue to work with the company, as would the current management team. Dainese makes protective clothing and helmets for motorcyclists, as well as for winter sports and horse riding. The company was started in 1972 and it has The Dainese Technology Centre (D-Tec®), an R&D technical centre for the study of protective technology and the development of products for the market.
