
India’s Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman recently signed a free trade agreement with Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) minister Andrey Slepnev at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2015).
The EEC, which is an international organization for regional economic integration, aims at coordinating the economic policy of the member states and guaranteeing free movement of goods, services, capital, and workforce. The current members of EEC are the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Armenia.
