
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) approved plans to purchase an LNG cargo worth Taka 609.28 crore from the United States.
The approval occurred at the CCGP’s 17th meeting, which was held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Md Mahmudul Hossain Khan, Cabinet Division Secretary (coordination and reforms), told reporters following the meeting that nine recommendations were adopted.
He stated that, based on a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Petrobangla would purchase one cargo LNG from US-based Excelerate Energy for around Taka 609.28 crore, with one metric million British thermal units (MMBtu) LNG costing US $ 13.55.
In response to another recommendation from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the day’s CCGP meeting approved the potential signing of a draft agreement between Sylhet Gas Fields Limited (SGFL) and Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation, China.
