India’s Federation of Buying Agents (FBA) is increasing its reach globally as its team has increased its participation in international sourcing events and knowledge sharing platforms.
The increased presence, FBA believes, will lead to more business opportunities for Indian textile players.
Lokesh Parashar, President of FBA, recently addressed the 2nd World Textile Merchandise Conference, held in Keqiao, China. The theme of the event was open collaboration, technology driven and fashion transformation.
Jointly organised by many textile and apparel trade bodies of China, the aim of the conference was to strengthen the in-depth integration and development of the Keqiao textile printing and dyeing industry.
Experts from around 45 countries participated in the event.
Lokesh informed Apparel Resources, “It was an honour to represent India at this platform. Important issues related to international sourcing, sustainability and technical textiles were discussed in detail.”
Meeting textile professionals from many countries, Lokesh noted that people are more interested in Indian products and want to source from India. “As an Indian businessman, we gave a strong signal to Chinese partners in trade and investment, especially giving a clear and straight direction on One Belt One Road (OBOR),” he added.
