Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has reached out to the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore, seeking their support in fostering bilateral trade and investment.
In a recent meeting with the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Singapore, Md Tauhedul Islam, Hassan underscored the substantial trade and investment prospects existing between Bangladesh and Singapore.
Faruque Hassan took the opportunity to provide insights into the current state of Bangladesh’s garment industry, outlining its future potential and vision. He particularly emphasised the exploration of new and promising markets for Readymade Garment (RMG) exports. Stressing the importance of diversifying both markets and products, even as he highlighted this strategy as crucial for sustaining the growth of the RMG industry.
Expressing optimism, Hassan urged the Bangladesh High Commission to continue diplomatic efforts in identifying trade opportunities for Bangladesh within the Singaporean market.
Furthermore, he called upon the envoy to position Bangladesh as an attractive investment destination for Singaporean investors, with a special focus on sectors such as textile machinery, man-made fibre and technical textiles, recycling industry, light engineering, and shipbuilding.
