Textiles Secretary Zohra Chatterji has suggested that home textile manufacturers and exporters should expand their exports to non-traditional markets. “Some extra work needs to be done for expanding export base to such non-traditional markets that have considerable buying powers and the standard of living is rising.” She said during an event. The size of such markets may not be as big as the traditional US and European markets, but some extra efforts is needed for expanding to markets in the Central Asian, Southeast Asian, West Asian and Latin American regions, she added.
