
The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and FIEO have organised an awareness seminar on ‘Facilitating MSMEs to Penetrate Export Markets’ at Gurugram.
Vishal Dhingra, Chairman, Buying Agents Association (BAA) informed making businesses ready for compliance, inspection and testing according to international standards. The exporters can also give an upper edge to their present business to increase domestic, online and international presence. He further added that the fundamental skill of trade is sourcing, or the process by which buying agents interact and establish business relationships with sources that provide products. The trade should also aim to keep its exporters knowledgeable about the nuances of strategic sourcing and keep them informed of any recent developments in the sector.
He further added that overseas buyers are looking for sustainable products from factories in India, if factories are ensuring to meet trade and sustainability compliances.
Sanjeev Chawla, Director, MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Karnal informed that since Handicrafts is a cottage industry predominated by MSME exporters, the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India plays a crucial role in shaping and promoting MSMEs in the nation.
Maninder Kumar, Joint Commissioner, Central GST, Gurugram informed that the Government has made a number of changes to simplify the requirements for filing e-returns, e-invoices, e-way bills, and other electronic documents as well as the GST provisions. He stressed on the need for ‘KYS’ i.e Know Your Supplier in order for the entire GST chain to be compliant.
Raj Kumar Malhotra, Chairman EPCH and Chairman, Northern Region – FIEO and official for ECGC also addressed the seminar.
