
The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry or DCCI, considered the largest and the most vibrant business chamber in Bangladesh, has recently called upon the Government to ensure affordable and uninterrupted energy for both local and export-oriented manufacturing sectors to accelerate the country’s economic recovery this year.
This is as per a press communiqué issued by the DCCI, which also emphasised on improving the ease of doing business and developing infrastructural environment that is conducive for attracting local and foreign investment even as it added Bangladesh’s exports need to be diversified while facilitating access to credit for cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises.
The trade body while maintaining that to ensure energy security, it is necessary to urgently explore new gas fields, find alternative sources for import and strengthen long-term energy supply contracts also added it is also necessary to prioritise ensuring and ensure uninterrupted supply of energy for all industries.
