The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has appointed Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman as its new chairman. Rear Admiral M. Sohail, the present chairman, will be succeeded by him.
On behalf of the Bangladesh Navy, Commodore AKM Afzal Hossain signed a notification announcing the order on Wednesday, 7th August.
SM Moniruzzaman was the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation’s managing director (MD) before this appointment. He was the managing director of Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited in Narayanganj before to taking a position as managing director at Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
In 1988, he enlisted in the Bangladesh Navy as an officer cadet after graduating with honours from Cumilla Cadet College in 1987. In 1990, he received a commission in the Executive Branch.
