According to the latest data released by General Administration of Customs, China (GACC), China’s apparel and accessory exports have touched US $ 80.17 billion in H1 ’22.
The exports have grown by 12 per cent on Y-o-Y basis. Of total exports, garment products contributed US $ 70.87 billion.
Particularly in June ’22, the exports valued US $ 18.04 billion that’s around 19 per cent increase from the same month of prior year.
The increase in the exports can be attributed to market opening in China after lockdown as factories cleared all pending orders on priority.
Textile exports too upped in China as it reached US $ 76.32 billion during the first half of 2022. Textile products, fabrics and yarns contributed US $ 31.14 billion, US $ 37 billion and US $ 8.16 billion, respectively.
