
The year 2016 was not a positive one for China in terms of its T-shirts exports to the world. The rising labour cost in the country coupled with economic crash worldwide last year gave China a setback in its apparel exports.
The country witnessed downfall in value terms by 9.58 per cent to US $ 8,709,018 as against US $ 9,543,557 in 2015. Whereas, volumes too were down by a notable 6.71 per cent to 463,687 tonnes versus 484,811 tonnes on Y-o-Y basis.

Although production of T-shirts from China is gradually shifting to Vietnam and Bangladesh, the country is still hopeful to regain the pace in world’s market in the current year.
