Canada’s apparel import has seen a jump on monthly as well as yearly basis in February ’21, according to the official data.
The country imported US $ 663.94 million worth of garments in the 2nd month of 2021 and grew 1.41 per cent over Jan. ’21, while the growth was 8.35 per cent on yearly note as compared to that of Feb. ’20 import value.
Of total import values, knitted clothing contributed US $ 382.24million, growing 27.74 per cent on Y-o-Y basis and 1.90 per cent on M-o-M basis.
On the other hand, while woven clothing imports valued US $ 281.70 million declining 10.15 per cent Y-o-Y,it saw a miniscule growth of 0.75 per cent on monthly note.
China lost share in its Feb. ’21 apparel shipment to Canada as compared to Feb. ’20, while Cambodia – the second largest exporter to the North American country – grew significantly in its value-wise share.
