Faruque Hassan, the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has stressed the need for simplifying and expediting business procedures, particularly those related to customs, bonds, and VAT services, to enhance competitiveness in the global apparel market.
Faruque emphasised that streamlining these services could lead to time and cost savings while simultaneously improving overall efficiency within the Readymade Garments (RMG) industry.
Furthermore, he underlined the importance of enhancing the comprehension of customs and VAT regulations among professionals in the garment industry by providing them with training opportunities.
These remarks were delivered during his address at the inauguration of a ‘three-month certificate course on customs, bond, VAT, tax, and SD,’ where Faruque Hassan served as the chief guest.
The programme was jointly organised by the Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) in collaboration with the Bangladesh Tax Training Institute (BTTI) in Dhaka recently.
