
Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), underscored the pivotal role of branding in attracting investments and cementing Bangladesh’s global position.
Addressing a business seminar organised by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Hassan also highlighted the importance of national branding in driving the country towards further growth.
The seminar, titled Branding Bangladesh, held at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka recently, featured notable speakers including Ahasanul Islam (Titu), State Minister of the Ministry of Commerce; Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary of the Commerce Ministry; A. H. M. Ahsan, Vice Chairman of EPB; and Abdul Muktadir, Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceuticals Industries.
Hassan proudly acknowledged Bangladesh’s status as the world’s second-largest apparel exporting country, with garments reaching over 160 countries even as he underlined the imperative of enhancing this position through effective nation branding, advocating for Bangladesh to be recognised not merely as a manufacturer but as a distinctive brand.
