The Benapole Customs House has recently launched a software called ‘bCom’ with an aim to speed up import-export activities while also prevent revenue evasion and ensure transparency in tariffs.
Media reports maintained this while adding with this, the Benapole Custom House took another major step towards digitalization.
The software was reportedly installed for the first time after the construction of the customs building even as earlier, the customs, port, and the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) used to jointly enlist the entry at the cargo branch at the zero line of the border to collect information on trucks carrying out import-export activities as a result of which, it reportedly took half an hour for a truck to enter the port; but now after the introduction of the software, it reportedly takes only five minutes to complete the whole process.
Further, using the new software, it will also be possible to detect hazardous chemical products quickly, reportedly claimed Neyamul Islam, the Additional Commissioner of Benapole Customs House.
