
Notwithstanding the high inflation in the major export destinations of EU and USA, Bangladesh’s apparel export managed to register nearly 50 per cent growth compared to last year, amounting to US $ 3.52 billion, in the first 27 days of June.
According to reports, the garment makers’ body of BGMEA came up with the calculation based on the data of the National Board of Revenue as the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) was yet to make an official announcement in this connection.
It may be mentioned here, as per the EPB, in the July-May period of FY ‘22, apparel shipments from Bangladesh witnessed around 35 per cent growth to US $ 38.52 billion compared to the same period last year.
