
Bangladesh’s home textile export has recorded more than year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth from July to August of the current fiscal year (FY ’23) compared to the same period of FY ’22.
Reports have claimed this citing the recent data from Bangladesh’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), as per which home textile exports earned US $ 268.52 million in the said period registering Y-o-Y growth of 53.39 per cent from that of US $ 175.06 million in the same period of FY ’22.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, the President of the Bangladesh Terry Towel and Linen Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BTTLMEA) has, reportedly, expressed his apprehensions as to how will things pan out going forward when he said, “The situation is complex as an uncertain time lies ahead.”
The BTTLMEA President further, reportedly, added the entrepreneurs were trying their best to maintain the growth even as industry people have, reportedly, underlined along with the turbulent global situation, war and inflation in the US and EU, the power crisis and hike in fuel prices in the country, have all combined to complicate the situation further.
