
With the aim to ensure better supply chain collaboration and boost exports, the garment makers’ bodies, namely the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), have joined hands with the Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), to form a joint committee.
A statement issued in this direction maintained the committee was formed by the leaders of the trade bodies at a recent meeting presided over by BGMEA President Faruque Hassan even as they resolved to work unitedly to increase garment exports and enhance the image of the industry.
As per reports, the 11-member committee, which will act as a bridge between the garment exporters and accessories and packaging manufacturers to strengthen business relationship through collaboration while also deal with trade-related issues and settle disputes that arise amongst garments manufacturers and accessories/packaging suppliers, will be headed by BGMEA Vice President Md. Nasir Uddin.
