The Government of Bangladesh has released Taka 15 billion for the payment of cash incentives to local exporters on their export earnings even as export-oriented sectors, including readymade garment (RMG), leather items, jute and jute products, frozen shrimp and other fish, will enjoy this incentive.
This is as per a recent circular issued by the Finance Division.
Reports maintained the Taka 15 billion released by the Government is the third instalment of cash incentives for the January-March period of the current fiscal year (FY) 2021-2022 even as of the amount, Taka 3.0 billion will be distributed for the jute sector while Taka 12 billion for other sectors.
Further, a special 1.0 per cent cash incentive support fund for the apparel industry has also been included in the instalment even if the Bangladesh Government currently provides up to 20 per cent cash subsidy on 38 products against the export.
