The Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI), which is the apex trade organization of Bangladesh, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC), India, which has emerged as a composite body representing a wide spectrum of business enterprises, with a view to promoting trade and business between the two neighbouring countries.
This is as per media reports, which added BCI President Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) and President of Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC) N.G. Khaitan signed on the dotted lines on behalf of their respective organisations at the BCI office in the capital Dhaka even if as part of the deal, both the countries will exchange business information, expand cooperation while India Chamber will set up ‘Dhaka DEX’ in its office and BCI office will have ‘Kolkata DEX’.
Further, both sides will reportedly promote the exchange of information about opportunities to participate in exhibitions, trade fairs and seminars to be held in Bangladesh as well as in West Bengal even as they work towards the development of business and investment in the two countries.
All these, both the BCI as well as the BCC believe will open new doors of opportunity in terms of expansion of the business in both India and Bangladesh.
