Indian textile exports registered a growth of 3.03% during April-May 2026 over the corresponding period of the previous year, while apparel exports registered a degrowth of 12.98% during the same period. Cumulative exports of textiles and apparel during April-May 2026 registered a degrowth of 4.44% compared with April-May 2025, according to a CITI analysis of quick estimates of textile and apparel exports for May 2026.
During April-May 2026, textile exports reached US $3,397.70 million, compared with US $3,297.88 million during April-May 2025, while apparel exports stood at US $2,508.70 million compared with US $2,882.78 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. Cumulative textile and apparel exports during April-May 2026 reached US $5,906.40 million, compared with US $6,180.66 million during April-May 2025.
During May 2026, Indian textile exports registered a growth of 2.47% over the previous year, while apparel exports recorded a significant degrowth of 14.17% during the same period. Cumulative exports of textiles and apparel during May 2026 registered a degrowth of 5.40% compared with May 2025.
Textile exports in May 2026 reached US $1,726.95 million, up from US $1,685.35 million in May 2025, while apparel exports stood at US $1,297.23 million in May 2026, compared with US $1,511.44 million in May 2025. Cumulative textile and apparel exports reached US $3,024.18 million in May 2026, compared with US $3,196.79 million in May 2025.
