The Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR) program was introduced by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. It would function as a single centre for idea sharing and collaboration between startups, investors, service providers, and government agencies. He said that it will serve as a single point of contact for companies seeking a variety of needs, including funding and mentors.
All of the important players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem—startups, financiers, advisors, service providers, and governmental organizations—can communicate with one another on this platform in order to foster the expansion of the industry.
Building the largest digital register for startup ecosystem stakeholders worldwide is the main objective of BHASKAR.
In order to accomplish this, the platform will have functions like networking and teamwork, centralised resource access, personalised identity creation, improved discoverability, and support for India’s international brand. By bridging the gap between entrepreneurs, financiers, advisors, and other stakeholders, BHASKAR will enable smooth cross-sector communication.
Every stakeholder will receive a distinct BHASKAR ID as a result of this effort, guaranteeing individualised interactions and customised experiences throughout the platform. To enable quicker decision-making and action, users can quickly find pertinent information, partners, and opportunities by utilising robust search options.
The government is extending an invitation to all interested parties to join this ground-breaking project, which has the potential to completely change the startup scene in India and foster a more interconnected, effective, and cooperative atmosphere for business.
BHASKAR will facilitate easy access to a multitude of tools, resources, and expertise to support the entrepreneurial path from inspiration to execution by acting as a centralised registry.
According to Amardeep Singh Bhatia, secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the goal is to grow the number of startups to 50 lakh in the upcoming years.
According to DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv, the program will bolster the nation’s startup scene even further. Sanjiv added that the department has asked more than a hundred corporates and unicorns to establish incubation facilities for start-ups in the manufacturing sector. The enterprises have been provided with a corporate incubation and acceleration manual by the department.
