McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon is taking a bold step towards promoting circular fashion by teaming up with Sign of the Times, a female-owned luxury reseller, to unveil a captivating pop-up shop. This pop-up promises visitors a diverse selection of carefully curated pre-loved designer items, spanning clothing and accessories.
Antonia Johnstone, CEO and founder of Sign of the Times, expressed her delight in championing sustainability within the fashion industry through this collaboration with McArthurGlen, marking their second brick-and-mortar location in the UK. She views it as another stride towards helping local community members discover their perfect match among the extensive array of pre-loved designer items.
Tina Cumpstey, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon, emphasises their commitment to encouraging consumers to embrace sustainable choices when expanding their wardrobes. Investing in pre-loved items not only breathes new life into existing products at a lower cost but also contributes to reducing the burden on landfills.
Underlining the importance of circularity, a recent study from Northeast Somerset highlighted that increased purchases of second-hand items could significantly reduce emissions, equivalent to preventing 261,000 flights to Greece from contributing to atmospheric pollution.
In a recent development, Sign of the Times made headlines by acquiring assets from the start-up Cudoni, which faced financial difficulties in April 2023. This independent acquisition expanded their database by 35 per cent, signalling their determination to further strengthen their presence in the luxury reselling arena.
