Fashion and apparel industry, which is considered to be the most polluting industries of the world, is plugging away the fact with every possible measure to conserve environment.
Taking another sustainability initiative, the Italian denim brand Diesel launched a new collection capsule ‘Diesel Upcycled For 55DSL’ that made its debut in Milan Fashion Week.
The series of Upcycled collection is inspired from the iconic Diesel imagery and sport. Their first collection was presented in collaboration with 55DSL with regard to its ‘Diesel Upcycling For’ initiative. It also addresses the concerns of ‘more environmentally respectful practices in the fashion industry.’
Launching its collection in a ‘made now, buy now’ format, this is totally a limited edition product run with just 5,055 pieces.
The summary collection is made by reworking on deadstock, archive pieces and prototypes and aesthetics updated with bold splashes of colour, tie-dye treatments, mineral dyes, mixed materials and deconstructed logos.
On the other hand, the QR code on the garment takes the user directly to the landing page where he/she can directly track the procedure.
Taking baby steps, Diesel recently partnered with Eco-Age – a sustainability consultancy group – in an effort to keep the environment friendly approach to business and product development.
