At a time when Kerala is fighting the devastating floods and is trying to bring lives on normal track, e-commerce giant Amazon India has extended a helping hand too. The company has collaborated with the Kerala Government in supplying food and clothes to those who are going back to their homes from the relief camps.
Amazon is also providing a specific link for the donors to donate according to the requirements for the ‘Back to Home’ kits.
Madhavi Kochar, Senior Manager, Public Relations, Amazon India said, “The link for the donation along with requirements have been listed on our website and anyone who wants to donate can do their bit to help us provide the necessary material to the people of Kerala,” she added.
The kit will include items such as apparel for men, women and kids along with food items like rice, spices, sugar, salt and others.
The State Government has appointed a nodal officer of the civil supplies department in every district as the receiving officer, who will be reporting to the district collectors’ nodal officer coordinating goods sourced from various mediums.
Reportedly, the e-retailer will supply the goods ordered online by donors to the main collection centre in the district.
Furthermore, the disaster management department has ordered procuring food items via SupplyCo and Horticorp, that will be packed at the district receiving and disbursing centres to be distributed in kits at the relief camps.
