
ZXY, a truly multinational sourcing company having its operations across Bangladesh, China, Turkey, UAE and India is expanding its Indian operations, adding new buyers as well as vendors for various products. Enthusiastic of new clients and hopeful about future business, the company is expecting 100 per cent growth in India over the next few years. Joseph. P, GM – Indian Operation and Business Development, shared with Apparel Online the new developments at the buying office. “In recent months we have been able to add several retailers like Redtag (Dubai) Alhokair (Saudi Arabia) and Kappa (Landmark) to our client list and are expecting good orders from all these three buyers. To supply smoothly to these buyers and also to our other customers, we have added on new vendors from across the nation. We were not sourcing from Jaipur and Mumbai earlier, but now we have 2 vendors in Jaipur for ladies wear and 3 in Mumbai for the same, 3 vendors of Madurai and 2 from Bangalore are also newly associated with us for women’s wear as well as sportswear,” shares Joseph.
Redtag Group, a part of BMA International, has 129 fashion & lifestyle stores across the Middle East and Asia. Alhokair Fashion Retail, a part of Fawaz Alhokair Group, Saudi Arabia has more than 1,800 stores across 100 shopping malls in 15 countries.
ZXY, known for sportswear along with other apparel items is sourcing US $ 15-20 million worth of garments from India. The company is now also exploring the US, Canada and Australian markets as Joseph feels that the US gives volumes while Canada based buyers are okay with price, and Australian buyers are comparatively comfortable with both price as well as volume.
Recently, the company has shifted its staff from Noida to Tirupur as its management has decided to focus more on Tirupur office, in coming days it will also increase staff at Noida office, as business picks up. Established by Abby Jamal, MD of the company, ZXY is doing business of more than US $ 120 million and is working with top brands of the world. As per the company’s website, academic research is also underway for establishing the ZXY Foundation to be launched in 2015, for a pioneering scheme to link clients and vendors in supporting local communities for a better future.
