Asia’s largest and the world’s second largest terry towel producer, the home textiles giant Welspun India Limited on Thursday announced that it has launched an exclusive range of anti-viral home textile products for the Indian market.
The company joined hands with HealthGuard Corporation, headquartered in Australia, for the same.
HealthGuard AMIC technology, which has shown exceptional results against coronavirus, has been used to develop these products.
Welspun’s new anti-viral range includes terry towels, bed linens, rugs and carpets as well as re-usable cloth masks. The same will be marketed under the company’s brands SPACES and Welspun Health.
Having proven an incredible 99.94 per cent effectiveness against coronavirus, this technology not only has anti-viral, but also anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties, and has been tested as per international test standards.
Explaining why they ventured into anti-viral home textiles, Welspun shared in a statement that research has underlined that as per the WHO, “virus and bacteria can remain active on textile surfaces for a couple of days.”
Christopher Harvey, Chairman, HealthGuard Corporation, Australia, said how they wish for everyone to be able to “afford a hygienic fabric for a healthier lifestyle.”
He further added that in their latest endeavour to “cater to the global demand, we developed a suitable particle, which destroys the envelope virus cell wall.”
Welspun India recently entered the health and hygiene category with Welspun Health.
