US-based leading multinational corporation, Walmart has initiated the process to become first US company to get certified under a new international anti-corruption compliance programme developed by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards.
This was reportedly disclosed by Jay Jorgensen, Walmart’s Executive Vice President and Global Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. “We have started looking for a company that would certify us,” Jorgensen was quoted as saying by a leading international news agency.
The new anti-corruption compliance programme could help companies defend themselves against isolated cases of corruption or poor business practices.
