V-Bazaar has announced plans to accelerate its expansion in smaller towns across India and increase its workforce by more than 2.5 times to 10,000 employees over the next four years.
The fashion and lifestyle retailer, which currently employs around 3,600 people, stated that a significant share of new hiring will come from Tier-3 and Tier-4 markets, where the company continues to witness stable consumer demand and sustained retail growth.
According to the company, the planned workforce expansion is aligned with its long-term strategy to scale its retail network to more than 250 stores. At present, V-Bazaar operates 130 stores across more than 100 cities and is continuing to enter new towns while strengthening its presence in existing markets.
The retailer stated that each new store is expected to create between 35 and 40 direct jobs, in addition to indirect employment opportunities through logistics operations and local service partnerships.
The company is pursuing a cluster-based expansion model, under which stores located in nearby regions support operational efficiency and supply chain management.
Chairman and Managing Director Hemant Agarwal stated that the company’s focus remains on building strong local teams as it expands into emerging markets. He added that the retailer is creating opportunities for local talent in smaller towns and investing in training programmes to ensure operational readiness from the outset.
Hemant Agarwal further stated that the company is recruiting management trainees from leading management and fashion institutes as part of its effort to support structured and sustainable growth.
