After J. Crew and H&M trying to take a bite of the billion dollar wedding industry, Topshop becomes the latest high street label to launch a bridal wear capsule collection. Looking at the exponentially growing demand for cost effective weddings, it comes as little surprise to see a bargain brand entering an industry that is not known to be cheap.

The limited edition line may not be for the traditional bride but it is perfect for the millennial getting hitched by the beach or just someone looking for a freer flowing outfit for the big day. From flapper inspired party dresses to slinky satin gowns giving a throwback to Kate Moss’s wedding, there are enough options for the modern bride and even more for bridesmaid dresses that are far from hideous. With a serene colour palette of pastel pinks, peach and soft faded florals on solid whites, the collection is dripping in elegance using romantic ruching, ruffles and layers of lace.
While the collection may not sound cheap, the British retailer’s offering certainly looks affordable when placed in front of the average cost of designer gowns. The limited edition capsule collection has 5 bridal gowns in the range of US $ 650-1500 and around 25 options for bridesmaid dress that go anywhere from US $ 150-420 each. Also, there’re shoes, lingerie and other accessories to match for the bridal party within the collection in a similar price range. The collection will officially launch on April 13th through select stores and online.
