In the spirit of preserving and regenerating the dying coral reefs, the brands North Sails and Coral Gardeners shook hands to launch a new beachwear collection.
The brands’ third collaboration for beachwear collection is inspired by reefs. The foundation of this collection is the use of organically cultivated and lower carbon-emission materials
Moreover, 20 per cent of net sales from this collection will proceed to a charity called ‘Reef Guardians’ aiming at planting a million corals by the year 2025.
The complete collection includes shorts and swimsuits made out of recycled polyamide. It also contains kaftans and sarongs that are solely carved from 100 per cent recycled polyester.
Additionally, the collection offers accessories like hats and tote bags that are made from 100 per cent naturally cultivated cotton.
The chief sustainability officer Mădălina Preda at North Sails, talked about the mission to repair and protect seas by becoming ocean positive.
Founder and CEO of Coral Gardeners, Titouan Bernicot commented, “North Sails is the only organisation who believed in our vision early on, and whose key values align with ours. From 2021 to 2022, we doubled the number of corals we planted, from 15,000 to 31,000.”
