Next, the British fashion retailer, has raised its outlook for the year following grand Christmas sales.
The retailer recorded £70 million more-than-expected sales during Christmas after a surge in online orders of partywear and occasionwear.
Following this, Next has now said that it hopes to earn £822 million in annual profits, which is £22 million more than what was previously forecast. This is 10 per cent ahead of what it was in the pre-pandemic period.
Notably, in the eight weeks to Christmas, the retailer’s sales grew by 20 per cent from 2019. The growth came despite challenges pertaining to lower levels of stock.
The retailer added that its delivery service had been impacted by scarcity of workers in its warehouses and distribution networks.
The British clothing brand generates £3,284.1 million and is also known for its footwear and home products.
