With effect from June 2024, Marks & Spencer has announced the appointment of Callum Briggs, who was Hugo Boss’s former head of design, as its new head of menswear design.
Prior to being elevated to Head of Design in February 2022, Briggs worked as a Senior Menswear Designer for leather and outerwear at Hugo Boss from February 2021.
Before joining Hugo Boss, he worked as a menswear designer for leather and outerwear at Reiss from August 2017 until August 2020. He has also had assistant and junior design positions at Belstaff and Tom Ford.
Briggs will become a member of the Clothes & Home leadership group and will answer to Mitch Hughes, the Director of Menswear at Marks & Spencer. Hughes returned to the company in January 2023, having previously held Managing Director positions at Topman and Boohoo Group.
Hughes said, “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Callum to M&S. Callum joins at a time when we’re really clear on the job to be done, who our menswear customer is and what we want to go after.”
Briggs added, “It’s an exciting time to be joining and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into the role and working with the team to take the menswear at M&S to the next stage in its journey.”
