British clothing brand Lucy & Yak is expanding its physical retail presence by entering the outlet store market for the first time. The eco-friendly and socially responsible fashion brand has chosen Junction 32 near Castleford in Yorkshire for its new 1,545 sq ft store, set to open on 6th September.
The store will feature “imperfect-but-wearable” clothing alongside discounted one-off samples in the brand’s distinctive color palette, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment.
Co-founder Lucy Greenwood shared, “We’ve been searching for the perfect location to showcase our (Im)perfect Yaks, where customers can explore pieces that might not be flawless but are still completely wearable. This aligns with our goal of keeping clothing in use and out of landfills. Given that Barnsley is our home, opening a shop in Yorkshire feels right. We’re excited to hear what our customers think.”
Lucy & Yak has recently opened mainline stores in Bristol, Norwich, Nottingham, Cambridge, Manchester, Cardiff, and Exeter, in addition to its two flagship locations in Brighton. This latest store opening is part of the brand’s strategy to increase its physical presence across the UK and enhance face-to-face connections with its community. Additionally, each store will function as a Re: PreLoved hub, where customers can bring items for recirculation and receive a discount voucher for future purchases.
