Uniqlo, owned by Japanese fast-fashion company Fast Retailing Co. Ltd, has announced the opening of its new flagship store near Manila, Philippines, this coming Fall/Winter season.
The upcoming flagship, to be spread over an area of 4,100 sq. mt., will be located on Glorietta 5, Ayala Avenue, in Makati’s central business and commercial district of Makati.
This will be the first flagship and largest store of the brand in the Philippines. New York, London, Paris, Ginza and Singapore have similar sized Uniqlo stores.
The yet to be opened store will be Uniqlo’s 15th global flagship store in 11 markets around the world.
The brand has described Philippines as the “key global growth engine for the brand”.
The latest Uniqlo collections as well as the full line-up of its signature LifeWear clothing will be available here for customers. A modern immersive shopping experience will be offered to customers in store through large visual displays and state-of-the-art design concept.
The latest expansion has been announced soon after Uniqlo’s Southeast Asia and Oceania sales increase to around ¥ 110 billion and the doubling of operating profit to ¥ 14 billion in fiscal 2017, notably.
Before the Manila flagship, Uniqlo announced to open its debut store in India next year. The opening of the store will mark the foray of the brand into the South Asian market.
