Iconic luxury fashion house Gucci is stepping outside the norms of the fashion world to change the way designers have functioned till now.
The pandemic has jolted fashion world back to reality and they realise doing away with older practices is the way forward. Hence, Gucci has announced that it is going “seasonless.”
Gucci will be organising shows twice a year instead of the usual plethora of events that they used to run from Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer to Cruise and Pre-Fall
The brand is now looking at breaking the stereotypical fashion seasons and presenting collections differently as irregular, joyful and absolutely free chapters.
Yves Saint Laurent, a Kering-owned revered fashion maison, had also announced its departure from fashion shows’ pre-set schedules back in April after it gave Paris Fashion Week a miss.
The thing to note is that the industry is realising the wastefulness of putting up multiple shows throughout the year and instead is moving towards exclusive shows and ideas to reach their audience.
