Clothing retailer C&A has announced the appointment of Frank Beeck as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 15, 2018. He will also be a part of the European Board of the Dusseldorf-based fashion house.
Beeck, who started his career in retail as a buyer for Peek & Cloppenburg KG, has also worked for Mango and as Head of the Swiss fashion retailer Vögele. Most recently, he was associated with NKD as CEO.
In his new role, Beeck will take care of the company’s top-selling markets in Europe; France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Germany are major markets for C&A.
Other retail-relevant nations like Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary will also come under his leadership.
Alain Caparros, CEO of the company feels that Beeck’s proven expertise in the apparel retail industry, combined with pragmatism and strategic vision, will support C&A in further enhancing its market position.
Beeck’s appointment as the COO also aims to strengthen C&A’s business for the future omni-channel model. The retailer recently sold 13 of its 160 French stores under the restructuring plan to counter the increased competition from both physical and online rivals. Earlier this year, it shuttered 23 of its Spanish stores.
