Spread across cities like London, Newcastle and Leicester, the department store chain announced several steps in alignment with UK Government’s guidelines including admission of a fixed amount of shoppers in the store at a time, usage of a one way path system inside the store and many more.
All of its stores will be fully functional apart from the London store where only the ground floor – to be accessible to the public as the floor – will offer a curated selection of goods from all the floors.
Fenwick was founded in 1882 by John James Fenwick with its first store in Newcastle selling fabrics, trims, dresses and accessories.
John expanded the chain to prominent cities like London in a prime location of Bond Street, and after acquiring key department stores, Fenwick became one of the most popular department chains with their current headquarters in the original Newcastle location and a total of 9 outlets.
Notably, Fenwick houses premium brands like Max Mara, DKNY, Issey Miyake, Micheal Kors along with many bridge-to-luxury brands.
