With the fear of Covid-19 diminishing in the background, fashion retailers in Bangladesh are expecting decent sales in the run-up to Eid even as consumers have already started flocking fashion outlets to buy lifestyle items, although the holy festival of Eid is still a month away.
This is as per reports, underlined by industry insiders, even though shoppers flocked to markets ahead of Eid last year too. There was a palpable sense of uncertainty and the fear of catching Coronavirus even if speaking to the media, the Chief Executive Officer of Anjan’s (one of the top fashion brands with 21 outlets) Shaheen Ahmmed reportedly said this was going to be the first Eid since the beginning of the pandemic when customers will feel no worry about the virus.
“Festivals are celebrated in Bangladesh with great fervour and shopping is an integral part of the festivities,” claimed Shaheen Ahmmed even if as per CEO of Aarong, Mohammad Ashraful Alam, the lifestyle brand has started selling Eid items from 8th March onwards.
