Crew Clothing is taking a bold step into the activewear arena with its technical performance range, Crew Sport, rolling out in mid-June. The new collection is a major expansion for the business, hot on the heels of its latest entry into women’s premium athleisure with the introduction of SuperLuxe. A men’s version of that higher-end line is also coming.
Crew Sport is designed to provide a complete rounded range for men and women that supports a variety of athletic activities and fitness levels—relaxed yoga and reformer Pilates, intense Hyrox workouts, padel matches, and long-distance running outdoors.
The collection covers several capsules, each designed to cater to various needs. Seam-Free designs ensure flattering silhouettes and chafe-free comfort, while nylon-elastane combines and jacquard panels provide ventilation during high-intensity exercise. Crop tops and leggings are signature pieces with supportive, wide waistbands.
A second capsule prioritises comfort, constructed in ultra-soft materials that balance breathability and sweat-wicking properties. In contrast, Bi-Stretch items hug the shape of the body with ergonomic seams and offer UPF50+ sun protection.
For runners, there are lightweight jackets, gilets, and shorts with reflective details. There is a high-performance Technical capsule with sweat-wicking, four-way stretch fabrics constructed to support active movement as well as recovery.
Marketing director Naomi Parry described the foray into sportswear as “a natural evolution” for the brand, which was started in a Salcombe windsurfing store and launched with rugby shirts created by a former British skier. She flagged Crew’s established sporting credentials by way of partnerships with the Henley Royal Regatta, Lawn Tennis Association, and Red Roses rugby team of England. She said that Crew Sport is the next chapter in that legacy, noting the collection is designed for customers with dynamic, multi-dimensional lifestyles.
Head of Design Jo Miller emphasised the collection’s inclusive appeal. She said that it’s designed for everyone—regardless of age, gender or fitness level, and they’ve combined their classic aesthetic with modern performance details—from storm flaps that don’t restrict movement to thumb holes that enhance comfort.
