
Carrefour India, which operates through a franchise agreement with UAE-based Apparel Group, has appointed Raghu Tiwari as Category Head to lead its apparel and fashion divisions, according to media reports. In his new role, Tiwari will oversee category management, buying and merchandising across apparel, footwear and accessories.
His responsibilities will include assortment planning, product development, sourcing, pricing strategy, MRP laddering, sales forecasting, space planning, open-to-buy management, budgeting and system implementation. He will also be tasked with building a high-performing team, drawing on his extensive experience in end-to-end category leadership.
Tiwari joins Carrefour India with a strong background in retail and e-commerce. At V-Mart Retail, he headed the menswear division, while at LimeRoad he led the platform’s fashion business, driving new product launches, brand partnerships, promotions, improvements in visual merchandising, inventory planning and multi-channel profitability. During his stint at Snapdeal, he oversaw the Apparel Fashion vertical, increasing category contribution and improving margins through strategic initiatives.
His career has also included roles at Reliance Retail, Blackberrys Menswear, Adidas, New Look–Indochine India and Triburg, where he developed strong capabilities in product development, sourcing, innovation, forecasting, inventory optimisation and vendor management.
