PrettyLittleThing (PLT), owned by UK’s fast fashion e-tailer Boohoo Group, has launched a resale marketplace.
The new marketplace, which has been unveiled as a UK-only app, will be rolled out to international markets by the year end.
Besides allowing customers to sell their old PLT items, the marketplace will sell second-hand items from other brands as well.
Phase I of the marketplace consists of functions like PLT existing account sync, PLT and non PLT listings and wish lists – in addition to including a message centre, image recognition and text filtering, verified users and PayPal integration.
Phase II includes functions that help users to leave reviews for sellers, subscription service, PLT store credit as a payment method and transactional push notifications.
Elated over the launch, Nicki Capstick, Marketing Director, PrettyLittleThing, said “We are encouraging our customers to recycle and resell unwanted garments whilst making money in return.”
Nicki added that the marketPlace has been built by in-house development team who have incorporated PLT’s customers’ desire for best-in-class functionality that allows them to list items easily.
Founded in 2012, PLT is a UK-based fashion retailer that aims at women in the age bracket of 16 to 42 years. It operates in the UK, Ireland, Australia, the US, France, Middle East and North Africa, and is known majorly for womenswear, footwear and accessories, amongst others.
