Amazon has opened a Fulfilment Centre (FC) in Haryana, India in view of the upcoming festive season in the country.
Amazon is working extensively to increase its presence in India, which is its biggest focus market after North America in terms of growth. The opening of the fulfilment centre is in line with the company’s objective of expanding its infrastructural footprint in the country.
The newly launched four-storeyed fulfilment centre is spread over an area of 250,000 square feet. The warehouse is the biggest in Haryana. It will offer a 1.2 million cubic feet of storage space to the e-commerce giant.
Amazon now has a total of five operational fulfilment centres in the region.
“The company expects that the launch of the 5th Fulfilment Centre in Haryana will expedite its fast and quick delivery system. The facility in the neighbourhood will help the traders and ultimately result in capital saving and their growth,” said Akhil Saxena, Vice President, India Customer Fulfilment, Amazon India.
The storage space that the retailer now has in the state is around 3.3 million cubic feet. Meanwhile, the total warehouse capacity of Amazon in India stands at 13 million cubic feet.
The company now runs 41 fulfilment centres across the nation.
