Sportswear and retail business Agilitas Sports plans to open 200 stores for apparel, footwear, and accessories brand Lotto in India, expecting swift growth. The business aims to have its first Lotto outlet operational by early 2025.
“We are planning to build a robust Lotto business in India,” said Agilitas Sports’ CEO Abhishek Ganguly. “We have created a separate management team and separate capabilities for the Lotto business. We will give it end-to-end focus.”
Agilitas Sports hopes to make between Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 3,000 crore in revenue from its lottery business. Although a deadline for reaching the 200 shop milestone has not been established, the company’s end-to-end business model ensures that the goal may be achieved.
Agilitas Sports will produce Lotto clothing and accessories in addition to building Lotto outlets in India. The company has set aside a portion of its Noida manufacturing plant for its Mochiko Shoes division to use for Lotto merchandise production.
Lotto was founded in Italy in 1973 as a sportswear brand. Known for its diamond logo, Lotto is today owned by US-based business WHP Global and is particularly connected to tennis and football. Agilitas Sports signed a deal with WHP Global to design, produce, and distribute Lotto goods in India as well as in South Africa and Australia.
