Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate Arvind Mills’ new manufacturing unit in Mirzamurad, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on October 25. The Phase-1 facility represents an investment of approximately Rs 150 crore.
Spanning more than eight acres along National Highway 19, the facility is located in Khochwan (Bhadhera) village, near the Rupapur intersection in Mirzamurad.
The plant will manufacture apparel, garments and human protection fabrics under the central government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
The facility is expected to cater to leading domestic and international brands, including Jockey, US Polo Assn. and Arrow. The unit will also manufacture sportswear and undergarments.
The company has also proposed a second phase of investment to expand the facility. Supported by a recently approved Rs 600 crore qualified institutional placement (QIP), Arvind is planning further infrastructure expansion at the Varanasi hub to support its global export supply chains.
