After working for almost 2 decades with Triburg, India’s number one buying house, Kishan Daga has now started his own strategic consultancy.
Kishan has massive experience in business development, buyer handling as well as global exposure.
In a discussion with Apparel Resources, Kishan shared his passion for sportswear and athleisure. He is a man with a vision to make India a self-sufficient sportswear manufacturing country and strongly believes these segments to have a lot of potential.
He has been actively supporting the companies having a turnover of more than Rs. 100 crore by helping them reach the next level – in addition to entering into strategic partnerships with some leading mills so as to foster the growth of research and development.
“India will not miss the bus as opportunities are there and a chunk of industry is geared up to grab them. Our country has next 5-7 years to prove that we have arrived at the world stage and I am willing to work with all who have similar confidence and vision to walk the talk. There is a need for proper and long-term planning and to explore the areas that have been not explored so far,” he said.
Notably, he has plans to get Korean, Filipino and Taiwanese experts to help set up technology and system.
Currently, Kishan is doing three projects with companies in Delhi-NCR and Ahmedabad and is also in touch with a few others.
Kishan, alumni of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), has also done a course for strategic planning and management from IIM, Kozhikode.
“Top-level management of the majority of companies is so involved and busy in day-to-day activities of the business that they couldn’t manage time to explore new and untapped opportunities and with enough exposure, I help them to tap such opportunities with long-term strategic planning,” he said adding “our industry needs to understand macro and think micro.”
“I have a passion for change, for newness, for making India proud and working accordingly in the new initiative,” he concluded.
