Prof. Swagat Kumar Gunanidhi Routray, Regional Manager with Apparel Training & Designing Centre (ATDC), Odisha, has come up with his book, “Glossary for Designer.”
The A to Z handbook is a good option for fashion students as well designers to identify and understand various fabrics and their processes.
The book is a precise expression of the assortment of patterns, processes and production techniques involved in the making of diverse textile designs and its fabrication.
A good number of fabrics are classified in the book on the basis of chronology, material, texture, their source and processing for ease of evaluation and understanding.
After “Traditional Motifs of Indian Textiles” (released in 2013), this is Prof. Swagat’s second book, and the experience of his first book clearly reflects in the second one too, be it with his writing style or overall presentation.
“My next book will focus on manufacturing and so I am trying to offer solutions for textiles and apparels in the series of my books,” Prof. Swagat told Apparel Resources.
Published by Prahallada Das, Odisha, the 77-page book will soon be available on various platforms.
The book was recently launched in New Delhi by Pandit S.J. Raghunath Mohapatra, Rajya Sabha Member and Mahesh Kumar Sahoo, Member of Parliament (Dhenkanal).
