Hong Kong-based apparel manufacturer Epic Group is set to inaugurate its manufacturing unit on 29 April in Khurda, Odisha, marking its first manufacturing presence in India.
The 40-acre facility, located at the IDCO Industrial Estate, has been developed with an investment of ₹220 crore. The new unit will be net positive in both energy and water.
“As a leader in sustainable fashion, expanding our operations to India was a natural next step given the country’s talented workforce and expertise in textile production,” Ranjan Mahtani, executive chairman of Epic Group, said during the announcement of the Odisha manufacturing unit.
Epic Group is also planning its second investment in India through its joint venture SPECTRA, formed with Creative Group, an India-based vertical apparel and home textile manufacturer.
The project involves an initial investment of about $15 million to set up a large-scale denim and bottoms manufacturing facility in Gujarat, with a planned production capacity of 700,000 units per month.
Epic Group serves leading global clients including Walmart, Levi Strauss & Co., Amazon, Uniqlo, and Tesco, with production facilities in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Jordan, and Ethiopia.
