Envoy Textiles Ltd, the country’s first LEED Platinum-certified denim manufacturer, has reported a twofold jump in profits for the 2024-25 fiscal year, reaching Taka 140 crore (US $ 11.55 million), largely driven by higher sales.
Alongside the earnings announcement, the company confirmed that its fabric waste recycling plant has begun full-scale commercial operations. The unit, set up on the company’s existing premises, can process up to 12 tonnes of waste fabrics per day.
The plant handles both locally sourced and in-house pre-industrial and post-consumer textile waste, including denim and garment cuttings, which are converted into recycled fibre certified under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). The recycled material is then reintroduced into Envoy’s yarn production cycle, creating a closed-loop system.
Envoy said the project will strengthen its global competitiveness by tapping into growing demand for sustainable textiles.
Despite the robust earnings, the company’s share price slipped 1.22% to Taka 57 in trading on the DSE on Sunday.
